Anna

This again is an older subtly layered Oil on Board Painting which I began I think while still in Italy. It is in the finely detailed and subtly layered, blended and glazed old masters' style which was taught to me by the artist Ken Hamilton at the outset of my painting career. I knew Anna in Italy. She was an acting student at Rome's National Film School, her mother a ballet dancer. A truly beautiful woman. I painted her many times. This is the final painting I have of her from that time. Again I liked it too much to part with it and so she travelled Rome to Los Angeles and back to Fermanagh and now Donegal with me.
