Metamorphosis

We are in a time of great change. In our cocoons, going inwards. There is potential for metamorphosis, individually and as a whole. I am going inwards at the studio. My new work is a journey from the cocoon through metamorphosis, into flight. (I share with you early images of the transformation series, dreaming time visions of a liberation of spirit. They are the energetic seeds of my new collection).

Cocoon is in the incubation phase, in the beehive, images of human figures safely suspended in butterflyesque cocoons. The first paintings from the metamorphosis phase I share today. The dragonfly signifies transformation. The energy within asking to be channelled into creativity, into movement. The Dragonfly Dance is a recalling of the immense power within each of us. ‘
I am working with a new language for me which comes from somewhere I cannot fully describe.

 Swedish artist Hilma af Klint was a visionary. She painted images which came directly through , making no conscious decisions. William Blake and Louis Le Brocquy are also of great inspiration. They painted the knowledge of the spirit. This is what I seek now as I work. t’s a new path for me. Trusting the still, inner voice. Allowing work to flow without trying to control.

All things are correlated beyond our wildest imaginings. We are each part of one another and part of the cosmos. Our separation, our alienation from each other, is illusion.

My project at the end of 2019 was ‘The Call is One‘ a poem, painting and art film. A warrior call home to ourselves and to the wisdom of Nature.

The poem finished with:

We rest our wings in sleep
Preparing to soar
Lighter than ever before
That we may view this world from afar
And see our place
As among infinite stars
Balanced, in perfect harmony
Holding space, for this New Dawn
To awaken fledgling wings for flight
I’m diving deeper.

The third phase of my work is of Energy Bodies – Visions of interconnected being – of Unity Consciousness. Vibrating frequencies of illumined, flowing form. The space between things as vital as the things themselves.

The dragonfly series is central to the wider picture unfolding at the studio.

My intentions are that my work may inspire peace, joy, self love and the seeking of wisdom in nature.

It is a vital time for inspirational, healing art.
As Terence Mc Kenna said –

Nature loves courage – You make the commitment and nature will respond by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you u[. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.

From isolation we dream our future.

‘We are the whole universe.’

We can move mountains of mayhem and cleans oceans if we only intend to do so. Let’s enter deeper into this dream.
