Inspired by another hazy Donegal sky… the sun popped its head out at about 5:30 this morning, and I planned to do our second sun of June ’21 in beautiful muted blues and vibrant oranges. Surrendering to the flow, never knowing where it will go, the final result is a patterned dance of light, quite different from what I had envisaged starting out. Someone commented that the dappled light looked like crystals and I like that idea.

It was such a hazy morning, producing a unique Donegal sunrise that was beyond words. Myself and Mina show you the vibrant orange sun burning on the horizon, creeping over the distant hilltop. The end result had a totally different quality to the sun I created yesterday. It really is amazing how my view over the Donegal wilderness changes everyday. Make sure that you check out the second part on the Instagram post so you can see the full timelapse of the painting creation … and also make sure you watch the video to get the best view of the burning sun rise about the skyline … it is quite an impressive sight.
